Welcome to the Sacramento Superior Court’s Public Case Access System
The purpose of the Public Case Access System is to provide the ability to research and locate Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento cases on a particular individual or a case number. The Public Case Access System provides you with the ability to search for cases by name, case number, or filing date. In Civil and Probate cases, you are able to view information regarding case participants, events, and documents (where applicable). The Traffic section allows you to look up and pay your traffic citation online. In Family Law cases, you are able to view information regarding case participants and events, and participants, and with a court assigned case subscription, are able to view/download Finding and Orders After Hearing, Minute Orders and Mediator Reports prepared by Family Court Services. Other case types provide limited case information, primarily the case number, date filed, and the case participants.
The most current filings may or may not be in the system. While the court strives to ensure the accuracy of the information it provides, the court recognizes that on occasion errors occur. Use of this information is the user’s responsibility.
Public Access Fees
Name searches and document downloads will incur a public access fee that reimburses the Court for the cost of providing public access to its electronic records1. A credit card is required for payment of these fees. If you want to see documents on a case you are part of and have an approved fee waiver, you must come to the court to view your documents for free. Members of governmental entities within California and the Federal government may use the system for free.
You may also come to the court and access the case information and documents online through one of the court’s kiosks free of charge (requests for printed copies will be charged at the rate published in the Court’s Fee Schedule).
Name Search Fees
A public access fee will be charged when searching for cases by name. In order to conduct a name search, you must first create an account then purchase the desired number of name searches. The fees are as follows:
- $1.00 for one (1) name search
- $3.50 for five (5) name searches
- $25.00 for 75 name searches
- $250.00 for 30 consecutive days of unlimited name searches
- $2,500.00 for 365 consecutive days of unlimited name searches
There are no refunds for unused name search credits. Name search credits do not expire, with the exception of the 30- and 365-day name search options.
Document Downloading Fees
A public access fee will be charged for viewing case documents. These fees will be calculated at the time of check-out. The fees are as follows:
- $1.00 per page for the first five (5) pages of a document
- $0.40 per page for each additional page up to a maximum of $40.00 per document.
An account is required to conduct name searches, subscribe to cases, or access the system for free as a government entity. One of the major benefits of establishing an account is the case subscription feature. With this feature, a user can subscribe to a Civil or Probate case and receive automated notifications whenever a new document is filed on that case. Attorneys and self-represented litigants that are parties to a Civil or Probate case can subscribe to their cases and receive notifications when new documents are filed. They may be able to view and print newly filed documents free of charge for 72 hours.
Attorneys or self-represented litigants that are parties to a Family Law case must file with the court a Family Law Case Participant Enrollment Form, along with a copy of your driver license or bar number. The court will create an account and subscribe the participant to their case. Findings and Orders After Hearing and Mediation Reports prepared by Family Court Services will be provided free of charge for 72 hours.

2 Please Note: the court only data enters into its case management system the first named attorney listed on a party’s initial filing. While any attorney may subscribe to the case, only the first named attorney will be able to view newly filed documents free of charge for 72 hours.
Use of Documents
Copyright and other proprietary rights may apply to filed documents, absent an express grant of additional rights by the holder of the copyright or other proprietary right. Take notice that:
- Use of such information in a case file is permissible only to the extent permitted by law or court order;
- Any use inconsistent with proprietary rights is prohibited.
Be advised that any person who willfully destroys or alters any court record maintained in electronic form is subject to the penalties imposed by Government Code section 6201.
